God Complex

The God Complex has never been recognised as a personality disorder, but it is very similar to the Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). It was coined by the psychoanalyst Ernest Jones, it is an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility. A person with a God Complex may refuse to admit the possibility of their mistakes or failures, even in the face of irrefutable evidence, intractable problems or difficult and impossible tasks. The person is also highly dogmatic in their views, meaning the person speaks of their personal opinions as though they were unquestionably correct. He/she does not concern responsibility for the evil he commits. Someone with a God Complex doesn't respect any conventions and society demands, and may request special consideration or privileges. The person demands constant attention from others, adoration and an emotional attitude. The confidence which characteristic for the God Complex representatives can express in fact the low self-esteem. In this case even slight criticism can lead to a complete breakdown. This creates the need for admiration even stronger, which finally increases the self-esteem of the person. It's a bit of a disastrous cycle like so many other mental disorders, it's not entirely known what NPD or God Complex causes are.  Probably this phenomena is rooted in either excessive pampering, or parents' criticism, or it can be a genetic predisposition. It usually affects more males than females beginning in the teen years or early adulthood. People suffering from this disorder feel equal to God. They demand special treatment and often try to subjugate others. The God complex is a psychological illusion in which a person is convinced of his omnipotence and omniscience. According to many experts Donald Trump is an example of "the poster child for the God Complex". However, in this particular example, he demonstrated many of the traits associated with the complex before he became the President. Donald Trump's narcotic personality contributed to the fact that he become the president of the USA.

An incident in the bus

When I was returning from school by bus,  few days ago, I witnessed an unpleasant situation. I saw a boy  at my age who had a broken leg. He tried to get to the exit door to get off at his bus stop but could not do it because the bus was very crowded. Even though he asked passengers to let him move forward, people ignored him. The boy couldn't get off. When he tried to do it at the next stop, the situation was supposed to repeat, but I loudly asked people to turn their attention to the boy and let him get off. They were embarrassed but reluctantly did it and the boy was able to get off and thanked me. I started thinking about the situation. I was wondering if people had not heard him? Was the boy talking too softly? Probably some passengers had not used public transport for months because of pandemia and they forgot about taking care of vulnerable people. For sure, it's not easy to be a senior or a disabled person in the society and to ask others for help every time.
